Trauma Therapy
Heal from Within:
Trauma Therapy for Women Ready to Reclaim Their Lives
You don’t have to carry this alone anymore.
Whether you’ve survived a single traumatic event or endured years of emotional, physical, or relational pain, trauma leaves a lasting imprint—on your mind, your body, and your spirit. It can show up as fear, anxiety, numbness, emotional overwhelm, or a constant feeling of being "on edge." If this sounds familiar, you're not broken—you’re carrying the weight of trauma. And healing is possible.
At EMDR4Women, we specialize in helping women recover from Trauma, PTSD, and Complex PTSD (C-PTSD). Using evidence-based therapies like EMDR, DBT, IFS, and Polyvagal-informed approaches, we create a safe space where you can gently process your experiences and restore a sense of inner safety and wholeness.

What is Trauma, PTSD, and Complex PTSD?
Trauma is not just what happened to you—it’s also how your body and mind responded when you didn’t have the resources or support to cope.
While many people experience trauma, not everyone develops PTSD or Complex PTSD. Here’s how they differ:
PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
PTSD typically arises after a single traumatic event—such as an accident, assault, or natural disaster. Symptoms can include:
• Intrusive memories or flashbacks
• Nightmares and sleep disturbances
• Avoidance of reminders of the trauma
• Hypervigilance or feeling “on alert” all the time
• Intense feelings of fear, shame, or guilt
Complex PTSD
Complex PTSD, often caused by chronic, repeated trauma—like childhood abuse, neglect, or domestic violence—includes all the symptoms of PTSD, but adds:
• Difficulty regulating emotions
• Deep-seated feelings of worthlessness or shame
• Struggles with trust, intimacy, and relationships
• A fragmented sense of self or identity
Women with C-PTSD often feel like they’re “too much” or “not enough” all at once. You may have developed high-functioning survival skills, but inside you feel disconnected, exhausted, or numb.
Why Trauma Therapy for Women is Different
Women's trauma is often rooted in relationships—betrayal, abandonment, safety violations, and societal pressure to stay silent.
Many are taught to minimize pain or just “push through.”
We offer gender-informed therapy that recognizes how trauma uniquely affects women’s minds, bodies, and relationships.
Whether you're a mother, daughter, partner, or simply healing—we see you.
Healing means feeling safe in your body again by reconnecting to your emotions and truth.
Our integrative approach includes nervous system regulation and trauma processing.
Coping Skills & Approaches We Use to Help You Heal
-
DBT helps you learn powerful skills to:
• Soothe intense emotions without shutting down
• Set healthy boundaries in relationships
• Build distress tolerance without self-harming behaviors
• Increase mindfulness and present-moment awareness
This modality is especially helpful for those experiencing emotional dysregulation and relationship struggles rooted in Complex PTSD.
-
IFS teaches that we all have parts—some that protect us, some that carry pain, and some that hold strength. Trauma often “exiles” wounded parts of us. With IFS, we gently:
• Build compassion for all your parts, even those that act out
• Heal wounded inner parts (like the inner child)
• Restore inner harmony and self-leadership
This approach helps you understand why you react the way you do—and how to shift those patterns from the inside out.
-
When you’ve experienced trauma, your nervous system can get stuck in survival mode—fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. Using Polyvagal-informed techniques, we help you:
• Understand your body’s stress responses • Learn self-soothing tools to feel grounded and safe
• Shift from survival to connection and calm
• Build a resilient nervous system over time
Regulation is the foundation for deeper trauma work—and we start here.

When You’re Ready to Go Deeper:
EMDR Therapy
Once you’ve learned tools for emotional safety and self-regulation, we may introduce EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)—a powerful, research-backed therapy for trauma healing.
EMDR helps you:
• Process traumatic memories without having to relive them
• Reduce the emotional charge of distressing experiences
• Rewire unhelpful beliefs (like “I’m not safe” or “It was my fault”)
• Feel a sense of closure, integration, and relief
Clients often describe EMDR as life-changing—like finally releasing a weight they’ve carried for years.
What Makes Our Trauma Therapy Different?
• Compassionate, nonjudgmental care
• Holistic integration—we honor the mind, body, and soul
• Paced and personalized—we move at your speed
• Expertise in women’s trauma recovery
• A deep belief in your capacity to heal
You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need a safe space to begin.

Women navigating relationship trauma or emotional abuse
Highly sensitive or empathic women who feel overwhelmed by life
